Pengaruh Pemberian Susu Kedelai Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol Pada Penderita Hiperkolesterolemia di Wilayah Kerja UPTD Kesehatan Puskesmas Muara Lembu

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is an increase in cholesterol levels in the blood. Patients with hypercholesterolemia have no symptoms at all. They only found out after being diagnosed with coronary heart disease or stroke. Soybeans contain protein, fiber, isoflavones and lecithin which can reduce cholesterol levels. This study aims to determine the effect of giving soy milk to cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia. This research was conducted on June 25 to August 7, 2019 in the working area of ​​UPTD Health, Muara Lembu Public Health Center with 20 respondents. This type of research is quantitative with quasy-experiment research design with one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection tools using observation sheets and measuring devices Autocheck cholesterol levels. Analysis of the data used is dependent t-test. The results obtained mean cholesterol levels before and after giving soy milk which is 245.40 mg/dl and 222.80 mg/dl, with a difference before and after giving soy milk which is 22.600 mg/dl. The dependent t-test results obtained p value 0,000 with a p value (<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of giving soy milk to cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia. The recommended results of the study are hypercholesterolemia sufferers can use soy milk as a blood cholesterol-lowering drink.
